Artist Statement
My involvement with glass as a material was immediate and visceral. The fascination was a combination of its unlimited potential and complex sensibilities coupled with my affection for the fire arts.
The purpose behind the work seems to be a self indulgent interaction with the material and the continuous struggle to gain sophistication with a unique and demanding process.
After taking classes followed by years of teaching, I finding myself returning to the old world techniques of the early masters as inspiration to expand my skills. The work that employs imagery contains symbols, subliminal observations that reflect the human condition.
