Erik Gronborg
Artist Statement
As an artist I consider myself first of all a sculptor, but I have created work in diverse categories and materials: Sculpture in wood and cast bronze and aluminum, furniture in wood, some with ceramics sections, ceramics including stoneware, porcelain and black basalt clay, and I created a garden as a joint work of art by my wife Irina and me. A common characteristic of all my work is an emphasis on structure, clearly showing how the work was constructed.
